Artist's Comments
This is in Luang Prabang, Peoples Democratic Republic Of Laos, 25th April 2004. I visited this town only briefly last year but was enchanted by the beauty of it. The architecture, plants and flowers, dress, everywhere you look there was something magical to take in. I'd climbed all these steps on the way to a monastery behind this hill, as I was nearing the top I looked back from whence I'd came and saw these two young lovers slowly walking hand in hand to the bottom of the steps to continue their day. I took a few photos and this was the best one, I like the tones and perspective, and the way the trees form a protective tunnel. It's taken with the sepia function of the camera. Gotta love the digital age.
